Gio Batta Morassi was born on July 2nd 1934 at Arta Terme (Udine), and at present lives and works in Cremona with a workshop and studio at No. 3 Via Lanaioli.
He is looked on as of the chief protagonists in the relaunching of violin-making in Cremona, not merely for training a number of Italian and foreign violin-makers who have achieved notable success.

He received his diploma at the International Violin Making School of Cremona in 1984 and that same year, as violinist, passed the Fifth Year Exam at the Conservatory of Music of Udine.
